Demonstrating Nail Products - What you Should Know

If you are interested in a career within the nail industry then there are many options to choose from. As well as becoming a nail technician, you can also take a less practical path too. Selling and demonstrating nail products is also a career within the industry that you could get into. So if you have a natural flair with people and you have a passion for products, demonstrating nail products may just be what you are looking for! But what do you need to get started?

The Skills you Will Need

To demonstrate and sell nail products you will need to be good with people, you will be flexible and ideally you will be a nail technician. Many sales positions don’t require any experience but some companies will employ only qualified nail technicians.

The main thing is that you have the right type of personality. You need to be able to grab people’s attention and make products sound amazing. Selling products can be hard work but if you do tend to connect naturally with people from all backgrounds and ages then you would be perfect within this job role.

It could help your chances if you have qualifications and if you have some form of insurance too. Companies may not have their own insurance and so if something went wrong, it could potentially cost them a lot financially. If you are covered with insurance then it looks good and you will not be as much of a risk as an uninsured person.

Qualifications will also obviously look good! If you have qualifications in business and selling products then that would be a huge advantage. Experience is also a very good thing! If you have had sales positions in the past and you have good references then you have a better chance of being accepted for a nail product sales position.

What you Should Keep in Mind

If you feel that you do have the right skills needed then you should purchase magazines within the industry and see what positions come up. You could also research different companies to see who they sell their products to.

The main thing that you need to think about is that the work is usually part time. It is rare to find a full time sales vacancy so it would help if you had another job too. That is why it does tend to suit nail technicians as they can fit the work around clients and it is an industry that they are familiar with. The work can be varied and quite interesting but the pay is often on a commission basis. So it may not be the best paid job in the world.

Overall it can suit those who have a sparkling personality but it is more of a part time position than a full time career.
